One deliberate workflow

Install. Shape. Check. Learn.

The cart should become easier to operate as it becomes more capable—not harder.

01

Activate the app embed

Install from the Shopify App Store, open your theme editor, and activate the Smart Cart theme app extension. This connects the storefront without directly rewriting theme files.

02

Choose the cart structure

Start with line items, totals, and checkout. Then add shipping progress, upsells, free gifts, tiered rewards, add-ons, or discounts only when they support a clear goal.

03

Design and write the experience

Adjust the drawer presentation, shopper copy, and supported custom CSS. Keep the checkout action visible and confirm that every message is accurate for the store.

04

Save and verify storefront behavior

Saved cart configuration changes are applied to the live cart. Test the actual storefront across cart states, products, variants, discounts, and screen sizes.

05

Read activity with context

Use cart analytics to understand interactions and connected orders. Attribution describes a relationship; it does not prove that the cart caused an outcome.

06

Run a focused experiment

On an eligible plan, compare one meaningful cart change with a decision metric and stopping rule defined before the test starts.

One connected journey

Configuration stays connected to the cart shoppers see.

Move from activation to modular configuration, storefront verification, and measured learning without treating any one screen as final proof.
